چکیده

Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) is a gram-negative bacillus that commonly causes nosocomial infection found in Indonesia. CRAB caused by resistant to Carbapenem. Resistance occurred because bacteria cause infections easily treated with antibiotics become difficult treat due the uncontrolled use of antibiotics. A. has been against carbapenem class antibiotics; and therefore, are required be obtained from natural ingredients optimal working power, such as marine sponges Axinella sp. The purpose this study was determine antibacterial activities associated CRAB. Bacteria were isolated differential dilution cultures on Zobell 2216E media. An activity test performed using overlay method. carried out presence inhibition zones. results showed sponge sp strain 3 KD had growth formation an zone 16 mm. catalase oxidase depicted isolates belong family Staphylococcaceae. Isolates potential agents growth.

Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii

To the editor: We read with interest the paper of Hrabák et al. [1] on the isolation of a blaNDM-1-carrying Acinetobacter baumannii strain. However, although the authors believed to be the first in the Czech Republic to report on a New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase-1 (NDM-1)-producing bacterium, there have been other reports on the same A. baumannii strain in the country [2,3]. Here, we would li...

Colistin-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii: beyond carbapenem resistance.

BACKGROUND With an increase in the use of colistin methansulfonate (CMS) to treat carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii infections, colistin resistance is emerging. METHODS Patients with infection or colonization due to colistin-resistant A. baumannii were identified at a hospital system in Pennsylvania. Clinical data were collected from electronic medical records. Susceptibility testi...

Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii in healthcare settings

Carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii poses a significant threat to patients and healthcare systems in all EU/EEA countries. A. baumannii is the cause of serious infections in healthcare settings, and carbapenem resistance limits treatment options and increases the risk for adverse outcomes for patients. The epidemiological situation in Europe has worsened in the past years, with a higher number of...

Efficacy of colistin/rifampin combination for treatment of ventilator associated pneumonia caused by carbapenem resistant Acinetobacter baumannii: brief report

Background: It is difficult to treat infections caused by Acinetobacter baumannii due to multiple drug resistance. The aim of this study was to determine the efficacy of combination therapy with two broad-spectrum antibiotics colistin and rifampin on clinical and para clinical indexes of the patients with ventilator-dependent pneumonia due to imipenem-resistant to A. baumannii in intensive care...
